  • Do You Offer At-Home Ketamine Treatments / Do you send ketamine home with me?

We do not offer at-home ketamine treatments. For your safety and to ensure the highest standards of care, we administer all ketamine treatments in our clinic. This allows our experienced medical team to monitor your response to the treatment and provide immediate support if needed. Our clinic environment is designed to be serene and supportive, ensuring you have the best possible experience during your healing journey.

  • Is There an Age Requirement for IV Ketamine Treatments?

There are no formal age limitations for IV ketamine treatments, but they are administered based on individual medical considerations. Our experienced medical team will evaluate each patient to ensure that ketamine therapy is appropriate and safe for their specific needs.

  • What Happens After My Treatments?

At My Self Wellness, our approach extends beyond medication alone. We advocate for holistic well-being, encouraging lifestyle adjustments such as regular exercise, daily meditation, ongoing therapy sessions, and embracing healthy habits. We believe that true change begins with proactive choices, recognizing that without change, progress remains elusive. Our dedicated team is here to support you in making these positive changes for lasting wellness.

  • Will My Psychiatric Medications Interfere with Ketamine?

Most antidepressants do not interfere with ketamine therapy, but certain medications may affect its response. It’s essential to consult our medical team and your prescribing physician before making any adjustments to your medications. We are committed to working with you to ensure a safe and effective treatment plan tailored to your needs.

  • Is Ketamine Addictive?

Ketamine does have potential for abuse, but under clinical supervision, it is not typically considered highly addictive. At My Self Wellness, we prioritize your safety and strongly discourage at-home use due to safety concerns and potential abuse risks. Our controlled, therapeutic environment ensures that you receive the benefits of ketamine without the associated risks.

  • Do I Need to Bring Someone with Me?

Yes, you will need someone to accompany you home after your treatment. While they do not need to be present during the session, a licensed adult driver must take you home, as you will not be able to drive for 12 hours after receiving ketamine. Ride-sharing services are also acceptable. Please remember that driving under the influence of a controlled substance is illegal and will result in immediate dismissal of care. We recommend not returning to work or operating heavy equipment on the day of your treatment. If you feel better the next day, you may resume all normal activities.

  • Are There Any Other Side Effects to Be Aware Of?

Common side effects of ketamine therapy include fatigue and occasional nausea, which are generally temporary and can be managed with medication if necessary. Unlike some treatments, ketamine does not cause delayed “flashbacks,” and most patients can resume normal activities the next day. At My Self Wellness, we prioritize your safety and comfort throughout the entire process.

  • What Should I Expect During Treatments?

During your ketamine treatments, you can expect a session lasting 40-60 minutes for mood disorders and up to 4 hours for pain conditions. Mild dissociative effects are common but temporary, and side effects generally dissipate within a few hours. Our compassionate team will be with you every step of the way, providing a safe and comfortable environment for your healing experience.

  • Will I Require Ketamine Therapy for Life?

Long-term relief with ketamine therapy varies from person to person. Some patients find sustained benefits after just one series of treatments, experiencing lasting transformation. For others, maintenance treatments or occasional boosters may be necessary to maintain their well-being. At My Self Wellness, we tailor our approach to your individual needs, ensuring you receive the optimal care and support for your journey to lasting wellness.

  • How Soon Will I Feel Better?

The journey to feeling better can be remarkably swift with ketamine therapy. For those suffering from mood disorders, improvements are often experienced within hours to days, with relief may typically starting after the first or second session. For patients dealing with chronic pain, it may take the full course of treatments to achieve substantial and lasting relief. At My Self Wellness, we are committed to supporting you every step of the way, ensuring you experience the transformative benefits of ketamine therapy as quickly and effectively as possible. Ketamine therapy is a tool and a catalyst for change, not a magic pill.

  • What Could Disqualify Me from Being a Good Candidate for Ketamine Therapy?

At My Self Wellness, your safety and well-being are our top priorities. While ketamine therapy offers transformative benefits, it may not be suitable for everyone. Patients with a history of substance abuse, psychosis, cardiovascular disease, pregnancy, or certain neurological conditions may not be ideal candidates for this treatment. If you have high blood pressure, cardiac, or pulmonary issues, we may require medical clearance before beginning ketamine therapy. Our dedicated team will work closely with you to determine the best and safest treatment options for your unique needs.

  • How Many Treatments Will I Receive?

Research suggests that a series of 6 to 12 ketamine treatments can deliver optimal results. Our standard protocol at My Self Wellness involves a loading dose of six treatments spread over a 3 to 6 week period. Depending on your individual needs and response to treatment, some patients may benefit from additional sessions beyond the initial six. We are dedicated to tailoring our approach to ensure you receive the comprehensive care and support you need for lasting wellness and transformation.

  • Will Ketamine Treatments Help with Treatment-Resistant Depression?

Yes, ketamine treatments have shown remarkable promise in helping those with treatment-resistant depression. While results can vary from person to person, clinical trials indicate significant efficacy, with tailored treatments yielding positive outcomes in over 80% of patients. At My Self Wellness, we specialize in creating personalized treatment plans that offer new hope and transformative relief, helping you reclaim your life from the grips of depression.

  • Will I be Asleep / Sedated?

At My Self Wellness, ketamine therapy is administered at a sub-anesthetic dose, meaning you’ll remain awake and aware during your treatments. While the dosage isn’t high enough to induce sleep, you might experience some gentle drowsiness during or after the session. Rest assured, our compassionate team will be there to support and guide you every step of the way, ensuring your comfort and safety.

  • How Does Ketamine Work?

Ketamine works by rapidly stimulating neuron growth in the brain, often within an hour of administration. This groundbreaking effect on glutamate neurotransmitters, combined with its powerful anti-inflammatory properties, underpins its transformative therapeutic benefits. While the scientific community continues to explore the exact mechanisms, the positive outcomes seen in clinical settings are nothing short of remarkable. Ketamine’s unique ability to quickly reset neural pathways offers a beacon of hope for those battling depression, chronic pain, and PTSD. At My Self Wellness, we harness this innovative treatment to help you find rapid and lasting relief, guiding you on your journey to wellness.

  • What is Ketamine?

Ketamine, developed in 1962, is a powerful and versatile medication recognized as essential by the World Health Organization. While it is primarily FDA-approved as a surgical anesthetic, its transformative potential extends far beyond the operating room. Ketamine is utilized in treatments for depression, chronic pain, and PTSD, offering hope and healing where traditional therapies have fallen short. Under the careful supervision of our medical professionals, ketamine’s off-label use provides a safe and effective path to relief and recovery, embodying the innovative and compassionate care we champion at My Self Wellness.

  • Are There Any Medications I Should Avoid Prior to My Treatment?

On the day of your treatment, please refrain from taking any stimulants that may raise blood pressure, as well as benzodiazepines, which can lessen the effects of the ketamine. You may continue taking your anti-hypertension medication and insulin/diabetic medications, but please be mindful of any fasting requirements. Always consult with your healthcare provider for specific guidance related to your medications and treatment plan.

  • How are you different from other ketamine clinics?

At My Self Wellness, we set ourselves apart from other ketamine clinics through our comprehensive and holistic approach to healing. While many clinics around the state and country primarily offer lower-dose IV treatments, we believe in the power of larger doses administered via sublingual lozenge or intramuscular injection. These methods can yield more profound and lasting results, ensuring a deeper level of transformation.

Moreover, many clinics focus solely on providing the treatment, a psychiatric consultation, a meditation lesson, and perhaps an integration session or group. At My Self Wellness, we recognize that true healing involves more than just the treatment itself. We believe that ketamine therapy is significantly more beneficial when coupled with comprehensive lifestyle changes.

Our approach to healing the mind, body, and soul includes offering a variety of products and services designed to support your overall health and wellness journey. By integrating ketamine therapy with holistic wellness practices such as regular exercise, mindfulness, and ongoing therapy, we strive to provide you with a more complete and transformative healing experience.

Our dedication to excellence has earned us numerous awards and recognition. We have been featured in many large news publications and television segments, such as CBNC, Fox Business, ABC, Bloomberg, The Wallstreet Journal, Oprah Daily, NPR and more… Showcasing our innovative treatments and exceptional & unique patient care. Each person is on their own unique wellness journey and progresses at their own pace. Because everyone is different, there is no “one-size-fits-all” answer. Some patients may notice a difference after just 1-2 sessions, while others typically experience a substantial improvement after 6 or more treatments. Following the initial loading dose of 6-12 treatments, some patients may find that they need an occasional booster to maintain their progress. • Isn’t Ketamine Traditionally Used as a Horse Tranquilizer?

While ketamine has been used as a veterinary anesthetic, including for horses, it is also a vital medication in human medicine. Ketamine’s use as an anesthetic in humans, particularly for surgical procedures and pain management, has been well-established for decades. At My Self Wellness, we leverage its therapeutic potential to provide relief and healing for a variety of mental health and chronic pain conditions.

  • Didn’t Matthew Perry Die Taking Ketamine?

Our hearts go out to everyone affected by this tragic event.

It’s important to clarify that Matthew Perry did not pass away from receiving ketamine treatments in a clinical setting. Unfortunately, he died from the misuse of several medications at his home, including ketamine. The autopsy report revealed that he had multiple substances in his system, such as buprenorphine and lorazepam, which, when combined, can dangerously increase the risk of severe sedation, respiratory depression, coma, and even death.

Ketamine was found both in his stomach and injected, indicating that he was using it outside of a controlled environment. His last clinic-administered ketamine treatment was over a week and a half before his death. This highlights the critical difference between supervised, therapeutic use in a clinical setting and unsupervised use at home. Recreational or unsupervised use of ketamine, especially when combined with other substances, can be extremely dangerous due to its dissociative properties. Tragically, this was the case here, as Mr. Perry was found in a jacuzzi, where the risks were compounded.

This heartbreaking situation underscores the importance of raising awareness about the dangers of using ketamine outside of a medically supervised environment.
